The Key to Our Board’s Success is Teamwork

Join the Capital Region Board’s team by becoming a member of a committee.

Teamwork makes a Board successful! By joining a committee and working with other members, you will be serving our Board, as well as earning Honor Society points, gaining education and networking important to your profession!

Most standing committees meet about six times each year for about one-hour. Task force committees are just that – task specific. Once that goal is reached, the committee has completed its obligation for the year.

Committee Descriptions

AFFILIATE BUSINESS PARTNER COMMITTEE – All Affiliate Business Partners are automatically on this committee. Assist with annual charity fundraiser. Sponsor events/speakers wherever possible. Join with REALTORS® wherever possible.

EDUCATION & PROGRAMS COMMITTEE – Help to plan continuing education credit classes for our membership; coordinate non-CE educational seminars and programs

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE – Review complaints received from members and public. Must attend NHAR or CBR annual Professional Standards/Code of Ethics workshop

POLITICAL ADVOCACY COMMITTEE – Encourage participation in RPAC/IMF programs. Update members on political issues pertinent to their profession. Promote National and State Calls for Action. Coordinate RPAC fundraisers.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE – Conduct Ethics and Arbitration hearings when required. Must attend Professional Standards/Code of Ethics workshops as required. Must have previously served on Grievance Committee for a minimum of two years.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH/HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE – Identify topics and issues to promote REALTOR® and Affiliate Business Partner image. Promote and conduct projects to benefit the community, as approved by the Board of Directors. Coordinates and executes Scholarship Awards. Assist with event set-up and clean-up. Confirm and thank speakers. Secure raffle donations, if necessary. Greet & register attendees. Welcome new members to membership meetings and events.

Task Force Committees

CHARITY FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE – Plan and carry out annual charitable event to increase awareness of member community concern and support. The annual fundraising event supports our local charity recipient and the Ken Levesque Memorial Scholarship Fund.

BUILDING COMMITTEE – Oversee general well being of Board Office building.

BYLAW COMMITTEE – Assure conformance of CRBR Bylaws with Board needs and NAR requirements

HONOR SOCIETY COMMITTEE – Encourage and acknowledge member participation in this program to enhance the image of the CRBR through its members.

STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE – Update and maintain strategic goals of CRBR. Develop objectives and strategies to support these goals.
